A Simple Approach for the Dynamic Analysis of a Circular Tapered Pile under Axial Harmonic Vibration

The tapered pile offers sustainable use of construction materials due to its higher axial and lateral capacity better performance owing geometry. This paper develops a semi-analytical solution the vertical dynamic impedance based on Winkler theory transfer matrix method. accuracy reliability proposed approach are verified by comparing functions cylindrical piles obtained from analytical finite element analysis. A parametric study is performed investigate influence taper angle resonant frequency. results reveal that has significant impedance, while it does not affect oscillation period Besides, vibration than with same volume. For fixed-volume pile, varying length keeping tip diameter constant yields constant. Finally, displacement amplitude decreases as increases, especially for high-frequency excitation.
